Bourne Rep Theatre School
Bourne Rep Theatre School is now into its second year. The first year has been even more successful than we could have hoped. We run one class at the moment but due to the waiting list we are starting a couple more classes in January.
OUR AIMS ARE:
To help pupils develop into individual performers.
To teach in an unpretentious, down to earth and fun way.
To offer pupils a wide range of performance opportunities through recitals, plays, musicals and cabaret.
To fully prepare the pupils in all areas of performance to a professional standard.
To keep classes below 15.
To keep all staff up to date with what is happening in the world of theatre.
To treat every pupil as an individual nurturing their individual need and to carefully monitor their progress.
All the classes are led by working professional performers who have vast experience when it comes to teaching drama, dance or singing.
Bourne Rep believes that it is extremely important to work on all three main disciplines of performance; acting, singing and dance. The first hour of the session will be devoted to acting; the following hour will alternate between dance and singing on a weekly rotation.
Classes run from 10.00 am - 12 pm and are every Saturday during term time. The classes are held upstairs at The Goat and Tricycle Pub.
There is the opportunity for all pupils to take LAMDA exams please email vicky directly at vicky@bournerep.com to discuss further.
We believe that the best way to become a confident performer is to perform so - there will be regular recitals and short plays that friends and family will be invited to watch. There will also be a musical staged each year.
The fact that the school is attached to a professional company means that all the children will have the opportunity to audition for any parts that come up in the Rep Company, giving them a unique insight and a chance to work with experienced performers.

The school runs Saturdays 2pm & 5pm for a 12 week period during school terms
During the 3 hours everyone enjoys an hour of acting an hour of singing and an hour of dancing, provided by three specialized teachers in three different areas of the school.
Children from the school have performed at the Pier Theatre, The regent Centre and also along side Ruth Maddock for a week at the Pavilion Theatre in Annie.
The school prides itself on proving a high level of training (and fun!) in the arts, at a fraction of the cost of other similar stage schools

Marie Ware, the director of Dance Voice has pioneered Dance Movement Therapy in the South West of England. The centre is well resourced with a variety of therapeutic equipment, and an extensive library of books, articles and mixed-media learning materials.

Pauline Quirke Academy of Performing Arts
The Pauline Quirke Academy offers children in the area a whole new experience in performing arts. PQA offers children the opportunity to get involved with all areas of performing arts from dancing, singing and theatre to comedy and television. At its core, PQA is designed to help children gain confidence, make friends and have fun.
Modules at PQA include drama and comedy, musical theatre and film and television, a unique offering in which students become familiar with the different acting styles required for camera work and learn how a television or film production is created.
As well as the regular weekend classes, PQA also provides courses which take place over the school holidays where students will have the opportunity to work towards an end performance. From 'Make a Musical' where students write, devise and perform their own short musical, to film making to devising their own plays, there's an option for everyone and it's a great way to keep the kids happy and entertained.

Poole Academy of Dance
The Poole Academy of Dance is a well established school teaching not only dance but performance skills including drama, singing and musical theatre.
Students between the ages of 2 to 20 attend the school and are given the opportunity to take dance exams in Modern Jazz, Tap and Acrobatics BTDA and Ballet RAD. Drama exams are offered through LAMDA. Street Dance classes are also available and great to introduce older children into dance.
Exams are not the only important part of the training so the Academy encourages performance skills as much as possible. The largest productions are put on every 2 years involving the whole school and inbetween show years students can work towards medal tests (performance exams). There are smaller shows/cabarets every so often that Stage Class pupils perform in.
In recent years teacher training/mentoring has been supplied to current and previous pupils. However this is subject to positions available. Junior teachers are existing students that have shown promise in certain areas of dance and help to teach the younger grades.
The Poole Academy of Dance offeres a friendly environment which strives on the relationship between parents, students and teachers. Dance is valued as a great form of expression and the teachers promote this passion through the work they do.
