Laura Cuschieri opened 'BEAT' in september 2004, sharing her passion for dance, knowledge of the industry and mezmorising choreography (complimented by all judges at the British Street Dance Championships!) with 'BEAT' also being one the first street dance schools known to Bournemouth, and the best!
Laura Cuschieri is constantly providing 'BEAT' with countless amazing opportunites, such as; Performance at Her majesty's theatre in the West End, British Street Dance Championships, Disney Land Paris, etc. Aswell as large scale productions at the Pavilion, Lighthouse, The Royal Bath Hotel, The Carrington House Hotel, aswell as performing in school fete's, festivals, carnivals etc.

Pure Funk ‘Dorset’s best known and rapidly evolving dance company’ (Extended School Services) is a Bournemouth and Poole based company who specialise in Urban/Commercial dance.
Their proven track record of high quality workshops and classes challenge young people of ALL LEVELS from child Beginner to Advanced/Professional adult, so it’s about finding the right level for YOU to thrive in! As a result of this approach, they have also successfully grown a strong following of local gifted dance talent (Pure Funk Dance Crew), simply through helping committed young performers achieve much more than they imagined, increasing their passion and drive to becoming more all rounded and accomplished dancers.
WHAT DO WE OFFER?
CLASSES: Weekly classes for age 5 to 16yrs, suitable for all levels. Adult classes (age 16+) available in three levels: for the beginner, the advanced beginner, and the advanced or professional dancer (or those who like a REAL challenge!!)
DANCE CREW: The Dance Crew train and rehearse at weekends towards numerous performances and competitions throughout the year, aiming to heighten individual experience and development. The training includes focused sessions in street dance, contemporary dance technique, and gymnastics skills, as well as preparing routines for performance and hosting our own Choreography Festival. The year ends with a large scale Dance Theatre showcase production, also for outside audiences. Entry to the Pure Funk Dance Crew is by annual August auditions.
WORKSHOPS: Pure Funk workshop leaders also lead sessions and workshops at schools, colleges, and various youth organisations within and outside of Dorset. Their work is highly regarded by DepARTure Arts and WAVE Arts in Education Agencies, and many funded projects take place throughout the year to bring high quality dance to much needed areas.

Forest Youth Theatre
Two seperate age groups (11-13 + 14-16 years) led by jacqueline Goddard. Normal sessions take place on Thursday 4.45-6.15pm for younger group and 6.30-8pm for older group.

Off the Wall Theatre Co
Funded by Wave Arts Organisation & the Cultural Hub, & St Peters School, "Off the Wall Theatre Co" is a new- writing based young peoples theatre company who can not only offer fully funded places to all participants, but encourages young people to have a voice in devising new work for the theatre. Our actors are aged 13- 18 and meet weekly on a tuesday evening 5 -7pm (termtime only) in the De La Salle Theatre in St Peters School. We work through devising process, then our work is scripted and performed in the local area. The group is directed by writer/ director Helena Fox MPhil, whose credits include BBC Film and who works as a writer/director for Theatre Royal Winchester amongst others. Visiting artists last year included Puppeteer and Physical theatre actor Claire Harvey, and this year will include the renowned physical theatre director/actor Liam Steele from Frantic Assembly/ Stan Wont Dance. This young people's company is for anyone (13 -18)who is interested in developing new work for the theatre!

Sally Adams Danceworks
We are an ISTD Approved Dance Centre, established in 1984 teaching children of all ages from 3 years, and adults in Street dance, Freestyle disco and Rock 'n' Roll. Teachers regularly attend training days and congresses and are completely up-to-date with the latest 'dance trends.'
We have classes in Ringwood, Fordingbridge and Alderholt for Beginners to Advanced. We offer medals/exams in all the above dance genres in the ISTD and the NATD. Pupils also have the opportunity of joining dance teams and taking part in competitions, displays and workshops. We train competitors at all levels.
All teachers are fully qualified in the ISTD and/or NATD, and Principal Sally Adams is also holder of the new Certificate in Dance Education, and an ADFP Championship Adjudicator. All teachers are members of Street Dance International.

Established in 2003, Shake are at the forefront of UK Streetdance unique in the area for offering tuition in a vast range of original streetdance styles including locking, popping, waacking, house and breakdance as well as in commercial, la-style and nu-style streetdance.
Shake offer weekly classes in a fusion of streetdance styles as well as their one of a kind saturday school offering 3 hours tuition in the original streetdance styles! South Coast Ballet
South Coast Ballet - young dancers company of Dorset - offers stimulating and life enhancing learning and performance experiences through the art of ballet. Membership is open to young people between the ages of 9 and 19 years old who would love to expand their current dance experience or for those who are inexperienced but just as keen to enjoy the magic of the dance and the thrill of performance that a performance-based organisation like ours provides. We offer Membership to young people who reside in the South West Dorset Coastal areas, but will also accept those willing to travel out of their way. We are based in the Weymouth/Portland/Dorchester area.
Our all-inclusive one set-price fee of £8.00 per week includes all warm up/body conditioning and technique classes as well as rehearsals (studio and theatre), dress rehearsals and performances, special coaching, pas de deux and pointe training. As well as all this, our fees also include use of all performance costumes* (* not shoes, make up or uniform items however)as part of our goal to make ballet accessible and affordable for all.
We are a year-round organization based in Dorset that aim to give regular performances throughout each calendar year - not just annually or biennially. We strongly believe that as ballet is a performing art there should be equal attention paid to developing the performing as well as the technical aspects of dance therefore, regardless of whether our members choose to continue their regular dance training and examinations elsewhere, not only will we encourage dancers to extend themselves artistically and creatively during rehearsals and on stage but we expect that members will fully engage in challenging and extending their technical standards - high standards of which we will expect as well as maintain.
We Offer:-
1. A Weekly Rehearsal Session
Including warm up/body conditioning class, technical class, and rehearsals
2. Regular performance seasons in school holidays throughout the year (to include newly choreographed works and traditional repertoire ballets, both full length and one-act)
3. Annual Choreographic Workshop in which Members can create their own pieces with the full support and resources of the company.
4. Special Guest choreographers and teachers in special masterclasses
5. Workshops on Stagecraft, Make-up and other aspects of dance/ballet theatre
6. Special lectures on various aspects of ballet/dance found interesting and valuable to young dancers
7. Appearances at special events, outdoor performances etc
8. Special beginners program is also available which gradually introduces the member to the world of ballet technique and stage performance.
There are only a limited number of places available per year and entry is strictly via a simple Audition and Interview.
